HADRIEL: SUMMARY
NOTE: Links to all these threads can be found in his memories. This is basically for my own reference, so I can quickly analyze character development, injuries, dates of events, etc.
On the morning of March 23rd, bright and early, Delight is resurrected. Her temple is restored, and her bar appears in the city, prompting celebrations to begin. From the 23rd to the 27th, the party is mostly contained in and around Delight's bar, but it is not long before she decides that's just not good enough. From March 28th to April 3rd, the natural light is dimmed and replaced with flashing colored lights, fireworks, and even a few disco balls. Loud music blares through the city, making it hard to sleep, and a wide variety of trouble is available to be gotten into. This causes considerable stress and frustration for Glacius, who prefers peace and quiet and feels he has no reason to celebrate. It also prevents him from sleeping for multiple days, and the resulting fatigue and headaches drives him to rely on Delight's energy shots; at the end of the event he suffers a massive energy crash and passes out by the river. He meets a number of people during this event, some who talk to him as he is attempting to avoid the partying, and others who aid him in recuperating afterwards.
April 2016 - While patrolling Hadriel on the 10th, Glacius decides to investigate the colosseum to see if he can discern any activity of the Door—and as fate may have it, it proceeds to dump a handful of new arrivals into the city. He comes across a badly injured Rey, who he and Nick work to escort to safety. After she has been seen to, the ice alien returns and encounters Fiona and Carlisle; he is surprised to discover that the clergyman has already met someone of his species, and it prompts Glacius to keep a close eye on him.
Starting on the 15th, Rage decides to make a play for power by directly manipulating the minds of Hadriel's denizens. She implants a specific target into each person's mind, driving them to eliminate them by any means necessary when they encounter the person they have been assigned to assassinate. Glacius intervenes on Emily's behalf, protecting her from Dorian, but the event continues. Word of conflict and murder spreads through the city, and Glacius, weary of humanity's constant infighting, tries to keep his distance. Unfortunately, he encounters Cecily, who is his target, on the 20th and ends up injuring her before he comes to his senses. Though Cecily informs him that it was the god's manipulation that has caused him to do this, he is still horrified at himself for committing the atrocity of harming an innocent, and he begs her to flee. Despite this emotional trauma, Rage is still not done with him; Cullen, his assassin, finds him on the 21st and immediately attacks Glacius. He is still suffering heavily from his guilt, and thus does little to defend himself; he suffers a number of injuries before Cecily intervenes on his behalf, much to the ice alien's surprise. No one dies in this conflict, but Rage's manipulations have negatively impacted Glacius' view of humanity as a whole and, due to the weight of the guilt bearing down on him for his part in it, force him to become much more reclusive once again.
May 2016 - Starting on the 3rd, the cave begins to darken... but Delight takes it upon herself to light up Hadriel with countless euphoria-boosting fireflies, trickling from her temple to fill the city. Early that morning, as the insects begin to flit about the city, he encounters Kate, and the two somehow end up discussing the possibility of breaking through the cave's ceiling. Later that day he overcomes his wariness and ventures into the park as he admires the fireflies' glow, only to meet Carlisle, who ends up healing the extensive damage to his hip dealt to him by Cullen during the Assassin Event. As the event progresses he comes across many other people. He meets Amos on the 4th, who greets the alien and explains some things about the city to him. He meets Kate again on the 5th, who helps him catch some of the fireflies in a jar so that he can enjoy their effects. And on the 6th he encounters Arya, who is impressed by his natural resilience to the effects of the insects.
The month chugs along until the gods decide to sap power from the emotions that the inhabitants of Hadriel experience in their dreams rather than making them suffer in real life; no one seems to appreciate the compromise. From the 16th to the 26th, people cross into each other's dreams to share in their experiences and emotions. The first dream that Glacius is thrown into belongs to Chris, where the alien defends him from a Wendigo. Then he witnesses Carlisle's dream, where he learns that the clergyman is cursed. Afterwards, his dreams are put on display, shedding light on his past and his goals.
June 2016 - On the 2nd Delight posts to the network, and Glacius coverses with a god for the first time. Also at beginning of June, Glacius takes care of various affairs around Hadriel. Most notably, he finally is able to begin making amends to Cecily, and settles into a new living space with Nick's help. On the 11th he decides to visit the library, where he meets Chris again, and the two discuss various subjects.
Starting on the 15th a thick fog rolls into Hadriel and the world intermittently peels away to a hellish landscape. Monsters stalk into the city from the caves and physical manifestations of people's personal demons begin tormenting them. Glacius spends much of his time trying to stem the flow of monsters into the city and scavenge for supplies that he can bring back to the people taking shelter in the temples, which have been declared safe zones. He also gets his injuries seen to by Castiel and helps Chris pass out some of the supplies he's brought in an attempt to begin making himself seem less monstrous to the general populace. On the 17th Glacius accompanies Kate while she checks in on the clinic, where they are attacked by a hellish, deformed representation of his regrets and fears. Unable to rally himself to fight it, they flee. Unfortunately, this means that it torments him again on the 18th while he is out with Carlisle, who pushes him to finally deal with the manifestation.
On the plus side, all of the encouragement and support he receives during the event prompts him to finally contact Maketh on the 21st, accepting her offer to join the city guard. On the downside, Sorrow is resurrected on the 25th—as if Glacius didn't have enough emotional trauma to deal with after all of this. Along with Sorrow himself comes a wave of regret and guilt that blankets the city. All those affected are inclined to not only be sad, but to linger over past regrets and things they feel guilty about. Given that the ice alien was already doing this thanks to his encounter with his personal demons, this is a devastating culmination of events. It forces the alien back into old behaviors as he hides himself away from everyone... until the 26th, when he receives a message from a friend. He meets with Kate later that day, and the two finally begin to work at explaining themselves and the snippets of their past that have been laid bare to each other by all of the strange happenings in Hadriel.
July 2016 - On the 15th, Glacius notices that his fireflies are beginning to wither and posts to the network seeking help. He learns that their lifespans are normally very short, so though he accepts the offers to aid them for the time being, he ultimately plans to release them so that they can live out the rest of their lives naturally. Following this, he interacts with many people during the middle of the month; noteably, Emily offers to make a sash for him and he finally meets with Maketh after she invites him to discuss his joining of the Guard over coffee. From the 22-29th, the denizens of Hadriel work towards making the city a safer and cleaner place to reside. Hope posts to the network requesting aid in both of these endeavors, inviting everyone to slay the excess monsters or work on construction and beautification projects. Glacius assists in both, not out of loyalty to the gods but out of his code of honor, which calls him to aid those in need in the city. He uses his strength and resourcefulness to aid in the occasional construction project and slays the last of the Cacodemons with Kate—which is fitting, considering these were the creatures they fought together the very first time they met upon being brought to Hadriel. Upon slaying the last of the Cacodemons, Glacius receives Sorrow's blessing... which he immediately spurns due to his distaste for the gods, as he does not want anyone to think he supports their agenda.
August 2016 - On the 10th, the monthly batch of new arrivals is dropped into the City, and Glacius goes to their aid. He assists Rashid and River in dealing with the Stalkers, and later that night he encounters Cecily and spends some time conversing with her. On the 13th, the usual light of the cavern does not appear, leaving the cave in darkness. Fear posts to the network before too much longer, revealing that this is another one of his bids to gain power. Fortunately this event is a complete nonissue to Glacius, who can see in the dark and is hard to scare in general. Unfortunately, the same can not be said for Carlisle, who the ice alien bumps into as he is patrolling. Once the darkness has passed by, Glacius returns to his usual routines with the patterns of the day; on the 19th he decides to stop by the clinic and discovers Kate working on applications of her powers. Feeling ready to extend another show of trust, Glacius agrees to give her a demonstration of his own.
On the 23rd, Hope and Delight decide to take cues from the warping of the Hadriel in June—instead of warping the city into a hellish landscape, however, it becomes a brighter and more cheery version of itself, cued by the arrival of happy music. During the transformation each inhabitant of the city is visited by their own familiar; Glacius' takes the form of a Guardian, which is a benevolent energy-based entity that once resided in the Astral Plane of his own universe. He is surprised to discover that Emily's companion is a large plush-sized version of... himself.
September 2016 - On the 1st, Chris posts to the network about Ashley's disappearance and Glacius tries to make himself available for support. Learning that Emily was also friends with Ashley, he reaches out to her as well later that night. Despite promising to give her space until she calls for him, he still rears his head when she posts to the network on the 4th when he sees Mello giving her a hard time. The day before that, on the 3rd, he is notified by Henry of a new tool that the members of the Guard are expected to use to keep in communication with one another. Glacius has some reservations but tries to work according to expectations.
On the 14th, Fear attempts to sieze more power for himself by summoning hordes of undead into the city. Emily reaches out to Glacius on the same day, shortly after he has recgonized the threat, and he moves out to help her get home safely. On the 24th, Confusion is the newest god to be resurrected, and as soon as she awakens the citizens of Hadriel begin falling under her influence. Among the effects are extreme disorientation, making it possible for people to get lost in Hadriel despite the fact that the city's layout has changes—and interference with their powers. Glacius suffers these effects, trying his best to continue his patrols and make up for damages he causes despite his own difficulties. He manages to find his way back to his apartment on the 27th, but unfortunately his powers are still on the fritz and he ends up impaling himself on one of his own shatters; thankfully, Emily comes to his aid. The two watch over each other until the confusion passes.
October 2016 - During October, Hope and Delight attempt to manipulate the door in order to send people back to their homes, which has a variety of unintended consequences. The first of these occurs on the 10th, when four highly destructive dragons are brought into the city along with the usual crop of newcomers. Glacius aids in fending them off and doing what he can to protect the inhabitants of the city, including protecting Pell and Flick when their plan to feed the dragons goes terribly awry. Unfortunately the ice alien is unaware that Kate is busy laying down her life elsewhere in the city in order to protect a friend. Worried by her prolonged absence, he leaves a message on her device on the 12th... but he doesn't receive confirmation of her fate until the 15th, when he finally sees her in person again. The two muddle through some of their respective guilt, and find a precious keepsake of Kate's in the process. Later in the same day Pell finds the alien's keepsake—a piece of his people's armor—and alerts Glacius, who immediately goes to retrieve it.
On the 24th, Hope makes one last attempt for the door, and inadvertently end up bringing in a vast array of newcomers from all sorts of different worlds and times. This brings Glacius' clone from another universe into Hadriel; on top of plenty of ire for his original (who has no knowledge of him in this universe), he also has history with Carlisle. The cloned ice alien and the clergyman share an unfortunate meeting, but Carlisle does successfully prevent the guaranteed heartbreak that would result had Algidus gone on to attack Glacius.
November 2016 - The ill-fated meeting with Algidus continues to wear on Carlisle; Glacius discovers the clergyman's poor condition on the 8th when he comes to check in on him. Realizing that his friend is drunk and depressed, Glacius does his best to care for him. On the 15th, rifts appear all around Hadriel—Cecily attempts to close them but something goes wrong, allowing demons to enter the city. One of these creatures possesses Emily, and on the 21st Carlisle and Glacius team up against the abomination in an attempt to save her. Glacius is to guard Carlisle while he attempts exorcism, but the demon manages to gain the upper hand and the ice alien is forced to kill it—taking the life of his best friend in the process.
This act, and the other failures wrapped up in it, plunge Glacius into a pit of depression. Carlisle comes to see to him on the 22nd, and ends up returning daily to tend to the alien's various wounds—physical or otherwise. This tireless support awakens a deep sense of loyalty and appreciation within him for the clergyman. Kate also shows up the day after, on the 23rd, and works to further stabilize Glacius.
December 2016 - Carlisle's daily visits are beginning to pay off, as Glacius finally decides to begin attempting gradual reintegration into life on the city on the 4th. Though he only means to start with falling back into old duties, he ends up reconnecting with other people as well—which is ultimately good for a creature that had isolated himself for so long. While he is working at the Guard's headquarters, Matt posts to the network looking for someone who can teach him how to fight, and Glacius—seeking distractions—decides to see if he can help. One the 7th Hana posts to the network announcing Emily's coming of age ceremony, and Glacius attempts to get involved. On the 8th, Glacius attempts to begin expressing his appreciation for all that Carlisle has done with some food and drink and a chance to relax. On the 25th Emily notifies the city that Chris has disappeared, and she ends up spending that night taking comfort from the ice alien.
Later in the month Tranquility is resurrected, and on the 27th the god changes the city of Hadriel into a scenic beach-side utopia. Though it's a bit too warm to be a paradise for a creature like Glacius, he still enjoys the change of scenery for its open sky and cleanliness. He spends a lot of time at the beach enjoying the cold water, namely with Emily, and then later with Carlisle, who he attempts to get more comfortable with the water and ends up making nice memories with. He also meets up with a number of others, including Kate, who reminisces with the alien as the illusion begins to crumble.
January 2017 - On the 8th, Glacius leaves a message in Emily's inbox, thanking her for spending time with him on the beach and teaching him how to enjoy it as humans do. Emily's coming of age ceremony is held on the 9th, and after getting ready, Glacius and Carlisle attend together. Glacius also converses with Hannah, wishing to honor the work she has done for their mutual friend. On the 10th he returns to the apartment he shares with Carlisle to find the clergyman baking, and not only ends up learning that, but gets a lesson in glyphcrafting as well.
On the 16th, doubles show up in the city that are hell-bent on ruining the lives of their originals. Glacius first becomes aware of their presence that night when Carlisle's double shows up and attempts to tear apart he and the alien's friendship. In doing so, he lays bare some things that Carlisle himself has avoided talking about, finally cluing Glacius in that the clergyman may have deeper feelings for him. The next day, when Carlisle is safe and recovering from his ordeal, he heads to the guardpost to attempt to assist with any resistance or safety measures that may be forming—and instead finds Maketh and Henry dead and dying. He contacts Curufin when he posts to the network, informing the guard that Nick is now in charge. Meanwhile, Glacius' double meets Kate's double, and the two of them converse about their nature. On the 21st, Glacius' double approaches Carlisle, intending to use him as bait in order to get to his original. In the process he says some things that finally clue the clergyman in to the true nature of the other ice alien he had known; he doesn't get to think on that until later, however, as Glacius is badly wounded in the altercation before his double is compelled to leave by Carlisle, who then ends up exhausting himself attempting to heal the alien. As such, he is unable to heal Glacius' shredded gills, and his injuries persist and give rise to complications throughout the end of January. On the 26th he reaches out to Emily, hoping to get something that might help him protect them, unaware that he is already developing an infection.
With the treachery of their doubles finally behind them, Glacius and Carlisle mend together, as has the have done many times before. On the 30th Carlisle, remembering how much the stars had meant to Glacius during Tranquility's revival, gifts the ice alien with a similar sight through glyphcrafting... and the two end up finally discussion their developing feelings for one another. On the 31st Glacius leaves his newly-acquired partner a message on his phone letting him know he is thinking of him.
February 2017 - Glacius' condition continues to deteriorate after his double's attack, but thankfully Emily has been working to help him ever since she learned of his injured gills; she gets Hope to place some fresh snow outside of Spire Two, and at the beginning of February, she and Carlisle use that in conjuction with glyphcrafting to grant him Healing Ice that heals him completely. The loss of his mandible and all of the resulting disfigurement to his face is not healed, however, which Carlisle notices and questions him on during a lunch visit.
On the 10th Chris returns to the city, and Glacius reconnects with him. On the 14th, Glacius awakes to discover the city filled with snow, mistletoe, and quesitonable sweaters. The snow at least is a welcome sight, so he sets out to enjoy it with Carlisle. On the 15th he gets a unique take on the meaning of Christmas (and some other holidays) thanks to the skeptical Sharon. Later, he encounters Rey, who is attempting to discover what human activities qualify as "fun" in the snow, and the ice alien is in good enough spirits to join in. On the 17th he reconnects with Maketh, apologizing for being unable to do more to prevent her death at the hands of the doubles and pledging anew his desire to help the Guard. Later in the day he encounters Marian, an extremely xenophobic newcomer to the city. After the encounter, the ice alien returns to his apartment feeling dejected and isolated, and Carlisle does his best to help him feel better.
On the 21st, Carlisle's garden is burned down by Shadow, a cruel and detestable act which leaves the clergyman distraught. Glacius does what he can to support and cheer him up over the days that follow. On the 26th he posts to the network in an attempt to begin learning how to cook more human meals, not only so that he can better provide for his friends but also in hopes that he can make something to help cheer his partner up. Later that day he decides to confront Carlisle in regards to everything, and redoubles in his efforts to console the clergyman.
On the 25th, Sorrow leaves an open network post in an attempt to allow the residents of Hadriel to vent their feelings. Individuals feel a compulsion not only to post honestly in regards to their burdens, but also respond to the problems of others in a helpful manner. Though Glacius has never been one to spill his burdens so openly, he does find it in him to reply to a few others—mainly Henry and Mewtwo. With the former, he bemoans the sense of alienation that he experiences, and with the latter, he expresses sorrow over the fate of his double.
On the 15th the gods of Hadriel recruit all the inhabitants of the city into teams, encouraging them to spread the emotion that they have been assigned to. Glacius is recruited onto Hope's Team—though he has no desire to aid the gods, he doesn't want to let Rage or Sorrow run unchecked, nor does he want to stop attempting to inspire others... so he grudgingly plays along, in a way. On the 16th, Mewtwo posts to the network trying to be reasonable about the competition, and Glacius expresses his distaste for human quarreling.
On the 25th Love is resurrected, filling the city with not only plenty of self-care items, but a sense of the emotion for which they are named—and Glacius and Carlisle take full advantage of it. He also meets Ellie before heading back to the apartment.
On the evening of the 28th, the city splits itself into two for some reason, isolating the left and right halves. It turns out that the beings who killed the gods before have found Hadriel again, and Fear was only able to transport half of the city away. This presents a number of challenges for the various sides; the right side, on which Glacius is stuck, faces being cut off from Hope, who is responsible for the supply of light, food, and revives. On the 30th Maketh posts to the network attempting to organize the Guard, and Glacius answers the call, then immediately goes to attempt to stem the flood of monsters from the caves, and ends up battling the creatures with help from Kate. When he isn't defending key locations like the clinic, standing by his friends, or assisting the gods, he is of course by Carlisle's side. It doesn't take long for calamity to strike when the clergyman insists they work on the garden... but in the end it reveals points that need work in their relationship, and they start doing exactly that, dedicated to building it up stronger.
April 2017 - The city remains split and in disarray until the 9th, when it is finally reuinted through the combined efforts of each side (and the power fed to Fear). Afterwards, each of the seven gods decides to show their thanks by throwing a party for the inhabitants of the cave. Starting on the 17th, the next seven days each host a different event with different moments of gratitude chosen by different gods. Though Glacius doesn't show up for many of them, he does attend the final event: a grand ball hosted by Sorrow on the 23rd. He goes with Carlisle, chats with Cecily, and also dances with Emily, Rey, and Kate. Unbeknowest to him, it is the last time he will see the latter. He is also introduced to Marian which goes about as well as expected. Finally, near the end of the event, he goes to dance with Carlisle; after they have retired to their apartment for the night, the clergyman finally proposes that they share a room in addition to a general living space.
Following the masquerade, Glacius begins to notice Kate's absence, each day wearing on him more and more. On the 29th he finally resigns himself to the thought of her disappearance, posting to the network in a final hope against hope. When that fails to yield any results the alien retreats inward, beginning to lose himself in another shroud of sorrow. Carlisle notices his deteriorating emotional state and tries to help bring his alien partner around.
May 2017 - Though the intervention of his friends and partner has helped, Glacius is still suffering from Kate's loss. He comes across Rosen rummaging through the clinic on the 2nd and, due to his struggling mental state and how fiercely protective he is of what he has left of his friend, assumes the man to be attempting to steal. On the 9th Lance reaches out to Glacius, requesting information on Sato; the alien is dubious, but plays along. On the 10th Hannah posts to the network fearing her sister Beth's disappearance; Glacius empathizes with this plight, and tries to help her. On the 16th Glacius accidentally damages some equipment in the labs when he falls prey to Fear's latest event; Alphys helps him repair it. Once that is seen to, he immediately returns to the apartment to try and help stabilize Carlisle, who is much more susceptible to the jump scares.
On the 21st Glacius posts to the network in an attempt to smooth things over after Sato's accusations towards the Guard following Shadow's unprovoked attack. Realizing that Shadow has gone off the deep end, Glacius then reaches out to Rey on the 24th, intending to enlist her help in keeping Carlisle safe from the one who threatened his life.
June 2017 - On the 5th, it becomes painfully apparent that Emily has disappeared from the city, upsetting what stability Glacius has managed to achieve after losing Kate. With his support network decimated, he spends the day in the cave fighting monsters and pushing himself to exhaustion to try and leave himself unable to focus on his heartache. He starts to head back only after night has fallen, bumping into Hannah on the way. When he finally returns to the apartment, Carlisle is there to greet him, but all is not well; the clergyman has broken one of his promises to the aliens, and the two try to work through everything together.
On the 11th, Glacius decides to try and be more productive despite his grief over the scattered losses he's suffered in the cave; he works with Curufin to arrange a donation drive to the clinic, and with Sharon to start putting together a memorial site for all those who have disappeared. From June 15-17th, intense weather strikes Hadriel, throwing everything from torrential downpours and thunderstorms to massive hailstorms at the cave's denizens. These conditions cause little problems for Glacius, however, who immediately goes out to assist Carlisle when he gets caught out in the storm.
July 2017 - At the end of June, Love and Sorrow orchestrated an event together in which the denizens of Hadriel were visited by ghosts of people they love. These ghosts sup on the strengths of the people they are anchored to until they have drained them of life, and the only way to save those who are affected is to kill the ghosts. Though Glacius isn't visited by any ghosts, he finds out that Rey had been when he stumbles by her on the 1st, and tries to help smooth some of that trauma over. On the 2nd, an enigmatic entity that claims to be in opposition to the gods posts to the network, and Glacius attempts to reason with and understand them. On the 10th, a fresh batch of new arrivals shows up in the Colosseum... and among them is Kate, who Glacius is overjoyed to finally be reuinted with.
On the 16th, Hadriel's inhabitants are plunged into a slice-of-life illusion in which they all exist in a peaceful, idyllic little town. Glacius serves as a police officer who guards the town's citizens as if they are his own people. A few days after the illusion has dissipated, Carlisle attempts to follow up on something he had suggested they attempt, and Glacius joins their metaphysical pathways via the Mote to bring them closer. While exploring his partner's soul, he comes to better understand the nature of the curse that is sapping the clergyman's life away.
On the 29th the Null make contact again, asking Hadriel's inhabitants to kill Hope in exchange for a way home. Shortly after this, Marian posts to the network looking for assistance and Glacius, spurred by the urgency to keep ahead of the conflict brewing between the gods and the Null, volunteers himself to help. He learns that Marian's knowledge of dimensional planes is much more advanced than other humans... but it might have come at a cost.
August 2017 - On the 16th Glacius visits Kate in the clinic to return the notes she took on his physiology that he reclaimed after her disappearance, and receives treatment for a burn. On the 20th, Carlisle posts to the network announcing he is looking for students; Glacius is there to support him. He also converses with Ellie when he overhears her talking to his partner.
On the 23rd, Sorrow and Hope make a grab for power, given that they will need energy to lead an investigation into the Null. Putting a dark twist on the event involving hopeful futures, more mirrors show up in Hadriel—but this time they depict outcomes that the cave's inhabitants dread most. Glacius does his best to stay clear of any reflective surfaces, but images of Carlisle withering away to his curse still plague him; luckily Kate contacts him on the 28th, and they talk through things a bit.
September 2017 - On the 14th, fires start burning throughout Hadriel; Glacius responds to the Guard's call on the the same day, then goes out to assist in whatever ways he can despite the inherent danger, starting with the clinic. On the 16th he ends up near Marian's lab and does his best to help her out despite how messy things still are between them. He receives a burn in the process which damages his microweave, forcing him to retreat back to he and Carlisle's apartment, where he must stay since the clergyman can help him keep suitably cold. His partner stresses over the next few days trying to find a way to repair the damage, which he finally devises through glyphcrafting.
On the 22nd, paintball guns show up in Hadriel, beckoning inhabitants of the city to use them in an all-out battle royale with the goal of being the last one standing. Not wanting to be used as a tool for violence, Glacius destroys his immediately upon finding it—but it turns out even just the paint inside is dangerous, and he gets instantly knocked out when it touches him. He wakes a few days later and immediately goes to find his partner, feeling guilty for his actions keeping them apart and leaving the clergyman alone and distressed.
October 2017 - During the month of November, all of the gods decide to open up the dreams of the citizens of Hadriel once more. On the 14th, Glacius ends up in Brennan's dream, and the two find commonality in the stars and resolve not to give up hope of one day returning to their own worlds. On the 23rd, Glacius once again ends up in Carlisle's dream, which gives him greater context to how his partner has changed over the years. The alien tries to devise ways to help him reclaim that sort of happiness and faith. Finally, on the 26th, he and Carlisle are both visitors to one of Kate's dreams, and they attempt to understand the meaning of Christmas.
Unfortunately, the waking world promises to be much less kind, as shortly after awakening the alien finds out the Null have put his friend on a hit list. He immediately reaches out to Kate on the 29th, trying to come up with a way to keep both her and Carlisle safe. This leads to them deciding to live together, swapping between their apartment and the Clinic so that they keep an eye on things in addition to each other.
November 2017 - Kate moves in at the very beginning of November; Glacius quickly discovers this is not going to be as easy of an arrangement as he had thought, due to some unforeseen animosity between her and Carlisle. At the end of the month, the conflict with the Null begins to come to a head—starting with their attempt to kill Hope on the 25th, aided none by none other than Delight. (OOCly, this marks the beginning of the end of Arc 2.) Shortly after they attack, the Null begin to cut a swatch of destruction in the city; and Kate and Glacius attempt to protect the clinic... but the building is ultimately demolished by the opposing army and the alien loses his left arm in the process. Having made himself an enemy of the Null despite having little interest in their conflict with the gods, Glacius continues to fight and defend the city, eventually allying himself with Lup on the 26th as they encounter each other in the thick of combat. Two days later and the alien is beginning to run himself ragged; thankfully Carlisle calls him back, and they rest and scrape up some resolve together.
December 2017 - On the 3rd Glacius encounters Lance, and the two butt heads as the alien attempt to honor his promise to Rosen to look out for the psychologist. On the 5th, there is a final battle for Hope's life, which ends in Sorrow being killed. Fear manages to teleport the city away, leaving only the Null remaining in the city to be cleaned up. On the 10th, Glacius responds to Nick, pledging to do just that despite his accumulated injuries. On the 12th Fear teleports the city again now that it is clear of Null, and it ends up on a strange new planet. Glacius is unconscious for this transition as he recuperates with Healing Ice, but awakens again on the 15th. He then posts to the network on the 29th, trying to find ways to get acclimated to the harsh environment.
January 2018 - On the 14th, at the onset of fierce dust storms that sweep through the city for days, Carlisle comes to Glacius with some worries and they try to address them together. On the 23rd, the consciousness of denizens of Hadriel are projected as children; a young Glacius meets with Carlisle and many others in the city, such as Ellie. Later in the event, the roles are reversed when an adult Glacius encounters a young Taako and Lup Following the event, Lup reaches out to Glacius and apologizes in a somewhat confounding manner.
February 2018 - On the 17th, fueled by what happened with Delight, Rage lashes out at the inhabitants of Hadriel, turning any sort of love and affectionate into a dangerous sort of possessive anger. Given his natural protective tendencies and how strongly he feels for Carlisle, Glacius falls prey to Rage's influence and makes an uncharacteristic angry post to the network, trying to keep others away from his partner. Carlisle, sensing that something is amiss, heads back and attempts to rectify the situation with Glacius. They end up risking the unknown and traveling beyond the city limits to escape the god's influence for the first time, where they reconnect.
April 2018 - Taako and Lup loudly post to then network on the 12th, and Glacius cuts in on Carlisle's conversation with them to hopefully keep them from falling to squabbling. On the 14th Hope makes use of the power that Hadriel's citizens brought to him during their explorations beyond the city walls. using it to restore the city and build new housing complexes. Then on the 19th he also puts out a feast consisting of everyone's favorite foods; Glacius, aware of how many people he's lost over the months, heads to the gathering with the aim of reconnecting. He attends with Carlisle and speaks with Kate, Michael, and Rosen.
May 2018 - Glacius comes across an alarming post by Kate on the 5th and meets with her, knowing it's in regards to the fate of his partner. Carlisle gets in contact with him about the same post shortly afterwards. Sorrow is revived the very next day and discusses relocating the city. On the morning of the 14th, inhabitants of Hadriel awaken to find themselves robbed of traits or senses by Fear; Glacius loses one of his alien hearts, and Carlisle loses his ability to interpret anything but the language of des, making it hard for him to properly aid his partner.
On the 27th, the city of Hadriel is relocated to a series of islands on an ocean planet. Henry promptly puts out a call on the network requesting information, which Glacius provides. He and Carlisle then spend the next handful of days traveling around the islands, attempting to get the clergyman more accustomed to the water and occasionally interacting with denizens of the city.
June 2018 - On the 10th, a woman named Poison who knew Glacius in another world is brought into Hadriel with the rest of newcomers. A couple of days later Cecily puts out a call on the network on the 12th in regards to the Memorial Garden that Glacius and Sharon started, and the alien offers to help her continue working on it in Sharon's stead. Starting on the 20th, Confusion begins subjecting the denizens of Hadriel to waking dreams of their homes. Glacius is dropped into one of Poison's dreams on the 28th, which allows him to see the world where they met.
July 2018 - On the 6th, [Name] the malfunctioning Null posts to the network with startling information: information on what the Door actually is, as well as the location of some of its fragments. Law jumps right on organizing a crew to go find the fragments on the later that day; despite some mild initial disagreement, he and Glacius agree to cooperate. Efforts towards recovering the fragments are furthered on the 8th, when Kate and Alphys post to the network together trying to organize search efforts. Then, in a complete departure from the seriousness of these arrangements, Taako and Lup post to the network on the 9th crowing about the celebration they threw earlier.
August 2018 - The time of the voyage to collect the fragments under the ocean's surface draws near. Prior to departure, Carlisle gifts Glacius with a special bracelet designed to shift with him and keep demonic influences at bay. Glacius informs Henry of his assistance on the voyage, and then the ships depart on August 14th, sailing the seas and stopping on scattered islands here and there. During the voyage, Glacius acts as a protector, navigator, and diver—swimming alongside the ships to escort them and diving into the depths to retrieve fragments when they come across him. While he is checking in between vessels, he rescues Eleven, who stowed away on Curufin's ship and had fallen overboard. Later, when the crews take a break on an island, Glacius converses with Rey, who has has not spoken with in some time. Once the journey resumes, he eventually aids up aiding Caedra in fighting off aquatic beasts despite his reservations about her.
Then, after the journey's conclusion on the 31st, Glacius detects that something is terribly wrong with Carlisle. He leaves the seafaring crew immediately and returns to his partner—only to discover that life-threatening injuries have greatly exacerbated the cleric's already worsening condition. He stabilizes the human, but when Carlisle wakes from his rest he is a literal shade of himself. Glacius manages to bring the cleric back around, but all of this awakens the painful realization that Carlisle has little time left; Glacius now has to come up with a way to restore his partner's soul.
September 2018 - Carlisle's diminishing life continues to weigh on both Glacius and Kate, who reaches out to the alien on the 4th so that they can come up with a solution together. Glacius enlists his best friend's help with the construction of the Siphon: an artifact he saw used by a sorcerer of his world that can absorb the life force from one being and transfer it to another. Though said sorcerer used the artifact for nefarious purposes, Glacius is confident that it can be used to restore Carlisle with Kate's assistance and some modifications of his own... though it means breaking down his own power cell for materials, which is a sacrifice he is finally willing to make for his partner.
October 2018 - Glacius and Kate continue their work on the Siphon in order to reverse Carlisle's encroaching fate. During one of their meet-ups on the 10th, Kate surprises Glacius with news of sacrifice of her own: she intends to risk her life helping the gods figure out how to manipulate the door. Glacius begrudgingl allows her this. The two are finally able to finish the Siphon, and just in time; on the 23rd Carlisle calls Glacius home, feeling himself slipping to his condition. The two test the Siphon for the first time; the alien's transferred life force does wonders to restore the cleric's soul, who finds himself stronger and more vibrant than he has felt in many years as a result.
November 2018 - On the 21st, the city of Hadriel is relocated to a tundra planet, a pleasant change for the ice alien. Glacius posts to the network on the 27th, attempting to see how Hadriel's citizens are surviving in the new world and offering his assistances to those who are having difficulty, given that he is well-suited for the environment. Nick also calls Glacius at the end of the month, enlisting the alien's help with one of the members of the Guard: Drake Holloway, who needs to be frozen in order to keep him from turning.
December 2018 - On the 1st, Glacius shows up to make good on his promise, freezing Drake solid in the storage room of the Guard's headquarters. Later in the month, following his post to the network, Glacius goes to Margaery's house to hopefully strike up a mutually beneficial arrangement between them. He finds himself consistently surprised by her graciousness. He also follows up with Newt on the 17th, delivering information and parts on the tundra's wildlife and checking in on the research that has been done.
January 2019 - Carlisle calls Glacius on the 9th; now freed from his condition and thus the heavy existential thoughts that came with it, the cleric is able to contemplate more mundane things, like moving into a new home. Then, on the 10th, new arrivals are dropped into the city according to routine; Glaicus goes out to assist as always and ends up working with Lucretia to escape from a dreaded Rathalos.
February 2019 - On the 23rd, Glacius and Carlisle depart from the city in order to not only enjoy some time away with each other, but also to avoid the ongoing politics between the gods and the Null.
April 2019 - On the 10th, Glacius calls Kate in the hopes of catching up with her. Later that day he attends Lucretia's Ice Festival and catches up with the woman. On the 11th, Glacius attends a party hosted by Taako for Lup at the elf's behest. After finding out what is bothering her, he talks to Lup herself, trying to help her feel even a little bit better.
May 2019 - The end of this month marks the beginning of the end; on the 29th, a contingent of Null scouts flies above the city, heralding an oncoming invasion. On the 30th, Hope posts to the network, polling for opinions on what to do about the Null threat; Glacius responds not to try and sway the decision (or participate in the detestable result of genocide), but to ensure the gods will not try to harm them at this war's conclusion. On the 31st, the first wave of Null attackers land in the jungle and attack the city, commencing the battle.
June 2019 - On the 6th, the city defenses fall. One of the Null troops that managed to break past Confusion's labyrinth of protection delivers a bomb specifically created to damage or kill gods to her temple. The explosion injures her severely and allows the Null to enter the city. On the 11th a fleet of Null ships appears above the city, sending endless waves of the machines to invade. On the 15th yet another wave of ships appear, and with the city about to be overrun, the inhabitants of Hadriel implement the decision made in the earlier poll.A group of them travel to the ice planet with [Name] to upload a virus that will eliminate all of the Null, while the rest remain back in Hadriel to try and fight back against the invasion.
In the fallout, the Null are all eliminated, Love and Confusion are killed in the fight, and the Door is left standing. It is reprogrammed by Sorrow during the aftermath, and those who were trapped on the ice planet are returned to the city on the 21st. Glacius says his goodbyes to those he has come to care for on this day, including but not limited to Kate, Taako, Lup, and Cecily.
Then, on the 22nd, Sorrow and Hope begin to man the Door again, allowing anyone who wants to be returned home. Glacius opts to leave with Carlisle, finally able to put the nightmare of the city and its tortures behind him... and planning on acquiring one of his own ships once back in his world so that he can use its fold core to visit the friends he had to leave on occasion without necessitating use of the Door. Good ending achieved!
► YEAR 1
March 2016 - Glacius awakes in Hadriel on the 10th, deposited in the ruined colosseum. Cacodemons begin to flood the arena and attack him and the new arrivals; despite his wariness of humans, the alien's sense of honor does not allow him to leave anyone to suffer. As he is warding off the demons he meets a number of individuals—including a woman named Z, who explains to him the basics of the city and the supposed gods that rule it before the alien goes his own way, laying low until he gains the courage to reveal himself. Starting on on March 14th, the residents of Hadriel stumble across mirrors at some point during their daily routines; upon looking in their own mirrors, each individual will see a version of their future that will fill them with hope. This gives Glacius a boost in resolve, but he keeps his mirror hidden away due to his secretive nature. He does, however, encounter Lilith on the 17th—the two get into a brief scuffle before realizing they mean each other no harm. On the 20th Glacius decides to make his first post to the network, trying to dig up any information on the city or the 'gods' that rule it while trying to keep his alien nature concealed.
► YEAR 2
March 2017 - At the beginning of the month, Glacius is still attempting to set the burning of Carlisle's garden right. On the 3rd he contacts Maketh in an attempt to figure out who was responsible for the vile act. The next day, on the 4th, the ice alien swallows his pride long enough to reach out to Sorrow, intending to get a plant from Carlisle's word—the highly sought-after Oriachne's Tear—to ease the pain of losing his garden. The day dafter that, on the 5th, the clergyman decides to return the favor of sentimental messages, and after Glacius returns home to be with him, ends up giving him a haircut.
► YEAR 3
March 2018 - Kate reaches out to Glacius on the 9th, checking in on him and making sure he is back to normal after what happened with Rage. Fear manipulates a contagious disease on the 20th that causes flu-like symptoms and eventually full-blown paranoia; by the 28th Glacius is left in a bad way, but thankfully has Carlisle there to look out for him, and thus the alien is able to make a full recovery. He also receives a very important gift from his partner: one of his family's enchanted mantles, which is a striking reminder to Glacius of how important Carlisle now considers him. After Glacius has recovered fully and has had the space to reflect on some things, he finally reaches out to Ellie and apologizes for his conduct while under Rage's sway the month prior.April 2018 - Taako and Lup loudly post to then network on the 12th, and Glacius cuts in on Carlisle's conversation with them to hopefully keep them from falling to squabbling.
► YEAR 4
March 2019 - Aside from his usual routines, Glacius spends much time out in the tundra, trying to glean as much information and enjoyment from the landscape as he can. On the 28th the city of Hadriel moves again, this time to a jungle planet. (AKA this is the month the mun didn't do much due to IRL business mandating a hiatus, whoops!)April 2019 - On the 10th, Glacius calls Kate in the hopes of catching up with her.
